 Gleaners Inc. is celebrating it's sixth exhibition opening on Friday 2nd August. Our show, titled "Take Heart",  features the work of  twenty designers and crafts people and all the works include or reference the heart in it's many forms.
Everyone is invited to the official opening on Friday evening for drinks and discount shopping. The show runs till the end of August, so plenty of time for a visit. This event is part of Craft Victoria's Craft Cubed festival.

Viva la FRIDA!

Jennie from A Little Vintage has sent some more Frida dolls to Gleaners Inc. along with a selection of the most divine machine stitched Frida brooches.

 As you can see I love wearing mine!

 Frida on the right has gone to live with the lovely Coco and is now right at home in her lovely bedroom.

For the Sticky Beaks!

Isn't it always the way. You upload lots of pretty products pics.on Instagram but the photos that turn out to be  most popular are the Gleaners Inc. shots. I guess people love to have a sticky beak in places that they may not be able to see in real life.

I'll say it again, we are lucky to have such lovely natural light here!

Winter Warmth

Everyone is keeping warm at Gleaners Inc. now the chilly weather is upon us. We have woolly knits galore, cute and cosy scarves, and hand knitted beanies and mittens. There's Babs rockin' an authentic 80's jumper in cool geometrics.

 We also have a great choice of pretty crocheted pot holders in delicious colours!

Even our furry friend Xavier knows how to keep warm !

"Take Heart"

Hear Ye, Hear Ye, The next Gleaners Inc. exhibition in the Stairway to Nowhere Gallery will be titled "Take Heart"

We are now inviting artists and crafts people to create a piece for our group show utilizing the symbol of the heart as inspiration. 

Simple, symmetrical and easily reproduced, the Heart shape is design at it finest.The universal symbol of the Heart is probably the world’s most recognizable image. Variations on the heart shape have been used in cultural and religious contexts through the ages to represent romance, love and all things sacred. In popular culture the heart appears regularly in art, fashion, religious iconography and commercial celebrations.

This exhibition will be part of Craft Victoria's Craft Cubed  Festival. The show opens on Friday, August the 2nd. and runs through to August the 31st
